August was overflowing with Godโs goodness โ a month filled with family, friends, and undeniable favor. Everywhere we went, His presence went before us, opening doors, creating divine appointments, and filling our hearts with joy.
August 7th โ We had the honor of being back at our home church, Woodland Family Worship, for their Thursday night Christ Recovery. Worship was rockinโ,ย and Godโs Word was alive and active as we celebrated His glory together.
August 8th โ We headed up to Scotia and reunited with dear friends at Stafford RV Park. The staff there is amazing โ so kind and helpful. This Christian-owned park, surrounded by the breathtaking Giant Redwoods, has cabins, RV hookups, tent sites, and even a one-of-a-kind treehouse cabin. It truly feels like a little piece of heaven on earth.
August 9th โ What a blessing to be part of the 13th Annual Jesus Rocks the Redwoods! Huge thanks to Terri and Nancy Barnes for not only inviting us but also for all they do to make this event such a Spirit-filled celebration.
August 10th โ We had the privilege of leading worship and preaching at Christian Redwood Church in Eureka. Pastor John, his wife Stephanie, and their welcoming congregation (with their unforgettable pink pews!) made us feel right at home. Thank you, Faydra and Theresa, for coming.
August 11th & 13th โ God expanded our family as we connected with Celebrate Recovery in Eureka and later at Church of the Nazarene Eureka. Friendships were formed instantly, laughter and love flowed, and God was glorified.
August 14th โ A day of rest and awe. We took our pitties to the ocean for the very first time and then drove through the Avenue of the Giants. Nothing compares to standing in the middle of Godโs masterpiece โ His creation leaves us speechless every time.
August 15th โ We joined Celebrate Recovery Arcata at Church of the Nazarene. Instantly, we felt bonded with Pastor Gayle Heffley โ a true servant of the Lord with a heart full of love. The night was filled with blessings, prayers, and lives changed.
August 16th โ Leaving the Redwoods was hard, but we headed to Anderson. Our truck and trailer brakes overheated multiple times on the way, but BUT GOD got us there safely! That night, we celebrated Andersonโs 3-year Celebrate Recovery anniversary with Pastor Darrin bringing a powerful message.
August 18th โ We joined Anderson Community Church. Pastor Les, who we dearly love, delivered a sermon overflowing with truth and the Holy Spirit.
August 19th โ Off to Celebrate Recovery in Rio Linda, where we reconnected with amazing friends and shared the hope of Jesus and recovery.
August 23rd โ What a day! We joined the 1st Annual Armor Up Tour, hosted by Biker Church Revived and Isaiah 6:8 Crew. Even though it was the hottest day of the year, nothing could stop the worship, praise, and fellowship. The music was incredible, the food was delicious, and the fellowship was unforgettable. We even got to witness a powerful baptism โ Anna being baptized by her grandpa and dad! And on top of all thatโฆ it was my birthday! ๐
August 24th โ Pastor Jeff at Woodland Family Worship asked us to come for worship and to share the Word. I canโt express in words how incredibly honored and blessed it was to be asked here. This is where I fell in love with Jesus and came to know the Holy Spirit intimately. This church is our family, and they mean the world to us.
August 27th โ We wrapped up the month at Oroville Church of the Nazarene Recovery Night. Worship was alive, and we witnessed someone receive their 35-year sober coin โ praise God! Afterwards, our dear friends Russ and June welcomed us into their home with love, laughter, amazing food, and Godโs Word. Their kindness reminded us how deeply we all need moments of rest and encouragement.
August 31st โ We finished the month celebrating my birthday with the kids and littles. We rented a water slide and had an absolute blast! Our two youngest littles even spent the night. I fell asleep that night feeling full, loved, and beyond grateful.
โจ When we look back at August, one word stands out above all others: LOVE.
๐ โLove is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.โ โ 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
This month was filled with love โ Godโs love poured out through family, friends, and divine appointments. we pray your heart, mind, and spirit are filled with that same love. We pray you know how much God loves you and that you matter. We pray that His love consumes you so fully that it leaves no room for anything else.
๐ โBeing deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.โ โ Lao Tzu
This is what it means to love God and to be loved by Him.
